Hi Andres,

This happened to me recently too, with Fedora on a server. Someone
swapped the monitor to a really old one in the server room, and X just
wouldn't display on that monitor.

In the boot process, click "show details" and wait until you can press
letter i (for interactive) and just say no to everything. It takes a
while.

Then you should be at a text login. My advice would be to edit
/etc/inittab so that you start up in runlevel 3 (instead of 5, which is
graphical). Then you can always type "startx" to start X.

If that didn't work, you could always do an emergency boot, then edit
/etc/inittab (after mounting the root filesystem on hda or whatever).

If you decide to live in runlevel 3, be sure to start the Services
manager to choose what services you want in 3. The choices you
previously made in runlevel 5 will be irrelevant in 3.

Hope that helps,
Robert
