[nmglug] capturing video from the screen

Amigos, I have a program (geant4) which generates cute animation on
screen.

I would like to somhow tell my system to save a movie out of that.

I don't know how to offhand.

I imagine that a nice way to do it would be if the v4l architecture
had a way of doing a loopback where it grabs something from the X
server, but I know very little about v4l and so forth.

Does anyone know anything about this?
