Thanks, that helped.

One thing that gave me lots of trouble was
/usr/sbin/postdrop
/usr/sbin/postqueue
are both supposed to be setgid, and changing the postdrop group id screwed that up. I was not able to fix it and and had 
to change the group id back to 1002 for it to work again.

This certainly taught me to be really, *REALLY* carefull when using one of those global search and replace type of commands.
