[nmglug] Ubuntu and nvidia Riva128ZX

I have an old Toshiba notebook that uses the nvidia Riva128zx graphics chip. 
I've tried using both nv and vesa in XFree86 but can't get higher than
640x480 resolution.  With Windows I could get 800x600 on the screen or
1024x768 on an external monitor.

nvidia.com didn't seem to have a linux driver for this chip.

Any ideas on where to start looking?
