[nmglug] linux friendly player,

Hi,

I am kind of music agnostic,
I like music, but I have terrible ears for it,
never could even play a tune on a flute,
nor had fine equipment.

Reality kicks in and one needs a player,
the question is,

As a Linuxist, which player would you use?

if possible something that plays
flac, vog orbis, even mpg4, and why not, can be plugged somehow to an  
amplifier,
