I haven't bought a new home computer in a while, but it's getting to
the point where I need to.

I will be doing some software development (compiling C/C++, interpreting
python, a but of web stuff), and then general home use.  Biggest requirement:
it will run all day and all  night, and it must be quiet.

Any tips on what's a good current deal?
