[nmglug] Desktop success

Thanks to all at the glug meeting last night,Jason and Sam thanks for
the insights into the computer errors I have been wrestling with these
past few weeks.

Ubuntu 9.04 install/live 64-bit pc, is loaded on the sata side of a
cleaned hard disk.

Knoppix 6.01 gets a "mode not supported error".I assume the mode is
video,pixel density,later I will try another screen and determine if
that is the factual error reference.

Debian-testing-amd64.iso.would not load,showing a -71 error (protocol
error). plus error "not using mmconfig".

It has been an exceeding long,informative week of computer doodling.
