I agree that "free" can be a confusing word when it comes to speech vs.
beer but I also think "open source" has been co-opted as a corporate
marketing term to sell more Github private repos and Windows licenses
(that now directly monetize Linux)

I believe the benefits of FLOSS are self-evident in the medium to long
term, but it has no sales team.

Santa Fe could be easy prey for a smooth talking startup or incompetent
contractor, but it is also a progressive place where things like
ranked-choice voting can happen.
