<pre wrap="">I had a similar experience recently. I got an external usb drive from
ballios. Plugged it into a breezy install , wrote to the hfs file
system. Then reinstalled on the computer. Plugged the drive into dapper
and i got permission denied for writing. Must have had a tweaked kernel
in breeze?

<pre wrap="">I read a thread where a user disabled journaling and it worked, while
another chowned and chmodded his drive and hosed it. That's my reading
of it anyway:

Good luck. :)

<pre wrap="">I read the same thread and frankly was confused about the outcome. I
don't really want to ruin the drive for OS X as I am dual booting. I
may resize the partitions anyway just to get more storage on the one
partition that I can write to in Linux.
Thanks again. ;)

Well that would make sense as I had just updated the kernel and
everything else. I wondered if it was something like that.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a fix worth trying.<br>
