ok,
the first BIG mistake was trying to partition an md device,
which is plainly not possible,

now with a much better schema,
where I have

3 primary partitions on 4 disks, all of raid,
first for boot,
second for /
third for swap,

then all summed up,
the first goes as raid1 on md0 (with B flag and formated xt3)
the second goes as raid10 on md1 (formated xt3)
and the third goes as raid10 0n md2 (mkswap)

I did all from a live cd

The problem I have now with 8.04
is that the installer wont see the md0, md1 and md2 devices,
(which are all properly formatted)

at best, after going into the "setup raid" menu,
it detects the raid devices,
but tries to write a partition table on top of them,
without taking them as ready devices per se,

so the question is how make a fresh install on top of md0, md1 and md3

Thank you,
