Sam - Screen looks like this: overapping 1/3's
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
x xx xx
x xx xx
x xx xx
x xx-------- xx
x xx - xx
x part xxtial - xx
x dis xxplay - xx
x xx - xx
So, it is very hard, but somewhat possible to login and to navigate to some places. Attached are the various files you requested. The xorg.conf default loaded withthe install, the .myedit version is my attempt to use the old pattern to work. I had not looked at the log files, they are quite an education. I will study them, as I see at a glance there are different configuration patterns in the 9.10 Koala.
Thanks for your help and encouragement. Yours, Ted P.

On Thu, Nov 19, 2009 at 8:23 AM, Sam Noble <sam@thepromisedlan.org> wrote:

Yeah, the more magic we get, the harder it is to massage the details.
Send your /etc/X11/xorg.conf, /var/log/Xorg.0.log and a description of
the problem. (Is X not starting, or wrong resolution or what.)
