Team, I have the breadbox. It was failing to boot and had been opened by somebody prying open the bottom. The other damage noted seems to be from maple syrup or other sticky stuff on the outside and maybe some dripped in. Also the optical drive was very very difficult to get the system to read. After a few attempts the box did boot to the expected SFBC user login, but it would freeze after a few minutes. I cannot be sure whether it has been vandalized or succumbed to the accumulated dust and grease inside. When I opened it at home, it had the smell of the Baking Co. at breakfast time, "omlet and bacon."<br>
I have asked Doug for a machine to use as a replacement and he has agreed. I would like some pointers on setting up a public computer that will be tamper resistant. I guess that means essentially a user account that is very restricted. Anyway I hope to see you Thursday with two machines, one for autopsy and one to install. Thank you , Ted P.<br>
