Are you able to use fdisk? fdisk doesn't work on efi. You have to use parted.

although grub doesn't complain at install time at all,<BR>
it seems more to be a booting time problem,<BR>
and a mix up with grub using the HD uuid, instead of the device uuid,<BR>
or about using a uuid <BR>

seems I'll need to learn how to re-configure grub from busybox,<BR>
