I have held off upgrading my Ubuntu install because of the
Unity/Gnome3 issue. Unfortunately that means I don't get to use the
shiny, new Linux kernel. Also, Unity requires #D acceleration that
my cheapo toshiba laptop doesn't have, even though it shows up as
"disabled" for the processor, I can't enable it. That means I have
to use the Gnome "classic" interface which has very few tweaks
available or Unity 2D which sucks.
Between a rock and a hard place it seems.
We met last night. Discussed choosing a distribution. Also,
the new
direction that user interfaces are going. Specifically,
unity and
gnome3. Observations were made about the redundancy of these
projects.
Then we went to junction and watched the game and played
with phones.
Fairly typical glug..
Again, if people have specific things they want to do or
discuss. I
would recommend communicating before a meeting, so that
people will be
there to do them with.
