I saw some mention of this problem on the lists somewhere but there
is no /home/guest at all! seems the directory wasn't created for
some reason tho in the GUI I chose that option, i.e. create a home
directory. I'll have to see what the heck is going on.<br>

Also check if there is a /home/<guestuser>/.xsession-errors file. I seem to
recall finding the necessary hints to fix a similar problem in that that
file once or twice.
