well, still shuts down at odd times with cause unknown. I am
monitoring temp via 'watch -n 15 sensors' and the fan and
temps seem within good operating limits. Since I am not doing
any 'mission critical' activities I will live with this and
keep monitoring for any pattern. A web search showed some
others with this problem with free kernel and this hardware.
No definitive answer as far as I saw. Trisquel 7 running
nicely and does everything I need so I think I am free from
top to bottom.<br>

Ted, that's really strange, I didn't know you were experiencing
random shutdowns like that. I must have put together about 8 or so
of those x200's, most of them with Trisquel, and I the only time I
experienced random shutdowns was with bad memory modules. Have you
done a Memtest lately? Just curious....<br>

What kernel is that, by the way? That's still back in the 3.x.x
series, isn't it? I'm running Linux-libre 4.4.38 on the same
hardware, and I don't see any random shutdowns. I did have that
happening on my T400, but in that case it was the bad memory like I
mentioned.<br>
