    <p>It seems as if it's purely a matter of learning the various diffs
      in the GUI. I use several depending on the mood that I'm in though
      I pretty much stick to Gnome. Easy and familiar enough but XFCE
      works fine too. the install from disc or USB is a snap, as you
      point out Ted.</p>

        He is a capable 'gui nerd' himself. Time to get his own sub,
        pick a distro and do his own install.  I think he can do it.

            <p>The "hassles" with drivers are trivial (enable non-free
              repo). LeRoy was having more problems with the gui
              differences between xfce in lubuntu vs the xfce in Debian.
              Hopefully a GUI nerd out there can come to the meeting and
              help him out? Perhaps you can help?<br>
