I’ve also been putting off learning bash again and doing some scripting in the Fish shell. It’s not an object shell but I’ve found it’s “math” and “string” commands to be a breath of fresh air. Finally I’ve been using git-annex more for managing large media files and have learned how to duplicate the behavior of perforce-style partial checkout with its “sync” and “drop” commands.
