You can wait for other replies, but I will venture a solution. In my case I pulled a spare hard drive out of the closet and just did a fresh install after making the swap. No data is lost, but for you getting your files back or transferred will be an issue. A non-encrypted backup to external media and fresh install would work, too. Or, flush the apt cache - look this up on the net or in 'man apt' to get an idea of how to free up space. <p>It has been a while since I have reached out but the time has
come. <br>

<p>Every time I try to update my ubuntu 18.04 machine it gives an
error that not enough space to complete updates. Based on the
information I could find on the internet it seems like the
partition is too small but I have no idea how to fix this. Based
on my reading, I think this is complicated by the fact I turned on
encryption. It looks like upgrading to 20.04 might help but I
think the partition still needs to be enlarged and I am not sure
if that is an option during the upgrade.</p>
<p>At any rate, I am hoping someone has some experience/advice to
help me sort this out.</p>
<p>Thanks for any assistance. I will try to drop into meeting
tonight.</p>

install, but I have replace that with Debian Bullseye (11). I

5.10.0-11-amd64 did not work with my 27" monitor, but

get full resolution and sometimes not. I am hope to keep
working on this unit as the size is good and it has a slim dvd
optical drive that can be useful.</div>
