On March 10th (two meetings from now), Brantley Coile, founder of
Coraid, will be giving a presentation on a type of SAN using ATA over
ethernet. In his own words, "The EtherDrive storage blades are a way to
connect disk drives directly on an Ethernet network. A GPL device
driver for Linux completes the picture by making the disks appear
local. We've defined a new protocol, AoE or ATA-over-Ethernet, to do
this. EtherDrive storage blades are like Storage Area Network but much,
much less expensive. Now the Linux community can do a lot of nifty
things that were too expensive before."

Brantley will be flying from Athens, Georgia to give this presentation.
The presentation will take place at the SF Baking Company from 5:30 to
8:00 on 3/10 (regular meeting time).

Hope to see you all there.
Jason
