[nmglug] RAID0 vs RAID1, --> 5?

you can also do 0,1 with four disks.
which will have a striped array on mirrored disks,
same speed as striped, and redundancy as mirrored, at twice the price.
but, if you are going to spend in four disks,
then you can do software raid 5 -Sam claims with good arguments that 
software raid is as fast or faster than hardware- on 3 or 4 disks and 
have both, speed and redundancy, and some extra storage,
raid is not considered as a 'backup' resource but a fail proof one.
