I am new and don't know how to talk on this form. This is for
Brain's WIFI problem.

I had the same problem. The trick is to setup the network
configuration with the correct DNS server name. If you are using
DLS, the DNS will default to the router gateway even if you set it
manually for the ISP DNS. You have to either use the GUI to set the
primary DNS to the ISP or get into the conifg file (can't remember
which config file has the DNS names), and then protect the file from
being written to because LINUX will change it back to the DSL gateway
or router. on the next boot. This is a well known problem so
hopefully the next update will fix this.

I have SUSE 10 and I only used the GUI and did not write protect the
config file. But it stuck and works fine. I guarantee you this is
the problems because there are hundreds of descriptions and solutions
to this problem described in the forums.

BY the way, don't assume I know anything because I am a complete
newbie and know only what I have read. But I had this problem on
three different computers where I was able to ping the wifi but
couldn't see the internet, and this fixed it every time. By the way,
double check all your IP addresses as well.
