[nmglug] disk space

well, here I am again with the same problem apparently. I reformatted a
partition of my USB drive to get some space for my stuff. I have a 65gig
partition that is now ext2FS and was hfs+. I completely wiped the
partition and copied my 12+gigs of stuff into it. See the screenshot of
Baobab showing the 12.3 gigs used on disk3s11 which is on /dev/sda11.
See GParted that shows 18gigs used. I have done nothing but copy one
.avi file of 500+mb onto that partition since I copied my other stuff
there. So what is taking up the 7gig difference? This is getting very
annoying! any help?
BTW, when I copied over the 12+gigs, which GParted showed as 25gigs
being used, I selected the entire directory of that partition and copied
it into disk3s11 and only 12 gigs showed up so the additional 13 gigs
(25 less 12) was what? Vapor?
Any ideas?
thanks,
Brian
