Thanks for the suggestion,after sending an e-mail to Sam this morning and 
confirming /dev/ttyUSBx I proceeded to check the web resources and came up 
with three methods of configuring,the first is your suggestion and at this 
point I am trying to locate and unlock gnome modem manager...in order to 
launch the modem,after solving this seemingly minor problem hoping to
