[nmglug] SATA or not?

Hi all,

My brother wants to replace his failing hd. We've queried for the type 
of drive so that he can order a compatible replacement and this is the 
last result:

/usr/bin/lspci | grep SATA

00:0f.0 IDE interface: VIA Technologies, Inc. VIA VT6420 SATA RAID 
Controller (rev 80)

Also this:

sudo hdparm -I /dev/sda

/dev/sda:

ATA device, with non-removable media



So is this a SATA drive for sure? The IDE interface confuses me.
