I too would like to stress the importance of focusing on the most supported distributions. It's of course fun to tinker with the the other flavors but at the end of the day, in order to best support the free software and greater world, we should not be looking to reinvent the wheel or patch shifty distros. Debian has easily proven to be the best place to focus our powers and resources as it has extensive long term support by the development community and can be as easily learned by beginners as Ubuntu which does not support the underlying values of the free software philosophy.

NMGLug'ers, I have been working on the dvd's of iso's and will bring
Trisquel and a live Debian disk to the meeting. I have been reminded
by Jason that we ar a GNU_Linux group and Free Software Foundation
supporters and focus on the best available Free Software.
I would like to continue and expand on this discussion at the meeting.
Especially details like desktop options. I still favor Xfce, but Gnome
is making a comeback of sorts. You can read articles at Slashdot or
Lxer.com on the changes in these offerings. I am surprised Trisquel
has not had more 'press.'
Thank you, Ted P.
