[nmglug] Fwd: cranky computer

NMGLugers, I am forwarding this from A Kaluta because it is an
interesting instance of an install going awry. I have thought there
were Firefox/Thunderbird "exploits/hijacks" possible and he may have
encountered one. There was a time about 18 months ago when I had to
reinstall Firefox to straighten out some issues. Has anybody heard of
such a thing as an attack of exploit of Firefox? Just thought I'd ask.

Ubuntu 14.04 lts kernel 3.13.0-52 thanks for the bit of info.
this computer was running my printer and current hardware however for
instance my printer icon disappeared and thunderbird is no longer
appears and a pop up appears offering to report problem which apparently
generated a call from India offering to install current drivers for $250.00
