[nmglug] recommendations for $400 laptops to run GNU/Linux?

I bought a couple of the ryzen 3 asus laptops from Walmart.   329.00. 4gig,
256 nvme,1080p 14”   Runs Linux fine.  I splurged got the 32gig memory
later on.  Too my surprise there was room for a 2.5 Sata in the body.
Might work for some of what you need.
