I would not recommend a dual boot setup. It is really bad because you have to reboot to switch between windows and
gnu/linux applications. I tried dual boot about 5 years ago and found virtualization is a much better solution.
I would suggest installing Virtualbox OSE and running windows in a virtual machine. I just completed installing it on
three new machines. It is fairly straight forward. One of the really nice features I found on Virtualbox is you can cut
and paste between windows and gnu/linux applications. Let's see you try that on a dual boot system.
One criteria for virtualization is you need lots of memory. How much RAM does your system have? You might consider
upgrading Vista to Windows XP for better performance, lower hardware requirements and better compatibility with software.
