I overlooked several e-mails only stumbled upon the oversight while reading 
nmglug archives.Was not aware of driversguide.com thanks for the 
information.will look it over this evening.
The modem I have is a is a usr 5637 which the manufactures literature has 
the drivers as part of 2.6 kernal,they did not mention if it needed to be 
included as a module.where did you get the drivers for windows?
