[nmglug] screen brightness

Ted, et al;

As you recommended,I checked bios,within bios chose maintenance changed 
to "restore setting"
Voila! The screen brightness is restored.

Comparing dmesg with my memory of dmesg before the change; acpi may have 
been involved.
